What was the highlight of Amata Resort & Spa, Ngapali Beach
Professional team.
Professional team. They clean the beach in front of the hotel. We found one of the dirtiest beach of south Asia at around 1km far from the hotel. It seems that hotel is involved in the beach cleaning program of the bay. Garden is beautiful. Breakfast is fine.
Bar and restaurant are way too expensive. Price are in dollar. Compare to the food quality, they should reduce the price. They should go more into fair and sustainable tourism. Educate people around.

Perfect sunsets from the pool
The pool is the star of the show, especially for the sunsets. The overall property is very good albeit somewhat dated inside the rooms themselves. Location on the beach is wonderful and it feels very tropical throughout the property. Service was great and food was very good as well, but the central location also provides lots of eating options directly across the road. There are a few more modern and pricier hotel options in the area, but from what we saw they all appear to be much too “bland” once compared with the tropical feeling of Amata.
Rooms need to be rather updated sooner than later from a decor perspective. Everything is kept clean and all is provided for in-room (aside from a mini-bar) and the beds are very comfortable, but it all looks very outdated - especially the shower-in-bath-with-shower-curtain setup needs a rethink. Wi-Fi strength also a bit erratic inside the rooms, although no problems in the communal areas. But thanks to that pool area, all is forgiven.

Overall good resort
Overall good resort. The location is on of the best in Ngapali. The staff was great.
The pools looks muddy. The furniture looks old and needs some refreshment. I don't like the resort to have rooms in same price category with sea view and without. For example Deluxe rooms from 701 to 715 are: 701, 702 with sea view, 703-708 with partial sea view, 708 to the end without sea view. SO depends on your luck what you would receive for your money. The restaurant is very expensive, 13$ for burger etc., but there are very good and cheap restaurants nearby.

What was the highlight of Amata Resort & Spa, Ngapali Beach
The best beach I have been so far.
We arrived at 5 in the morning and it is way too early to check-in but somehow the reception lady manage to get us into a room immediately. There's a cute foot washing area just before the entrance to our room, to wash away dirt and sand from our feet. The room is spacious, bed is comfy and super clean. Even comes with a mosquito net but I don't find it necessary if you keep the door closed most of the time. The blinds can be brought up to allow for daylight to enter the room during the day. Decent minibar. Good wifi. Nice big pool with plenty of pool towels. You can rent bicycles or e.bikes - pay by the hour rate, at the stalls outside the resort to explore the nearby villages and seafood restaurants. A lot of lounge chairs at the beach and at the resort to chill at. The beach is perfect - clean, white and sandy, warm waters the whole time (bay of bengal) and gentle waves. Almost empty beach with just a handful of travelers only. The locals at the beach may try to sell you some fruits or even a boat ride to the nearby island but good thing is they are not pushy or persistent about it if you refused them. I took a walk along the beach to the furthest end and discovered that the beach directly in front of the resort is the best so far. No rocky outcrops. Just fine white sands all to the way to the water.
I feel that the in-house restaurant prices are slightly overpriced. It's at least 40% cheaper at the restaurants along the same road outside the resort. The breakfast buffet spread is the same throughout the whole time that I was there.
